Fathers of Hubris

Victimized, patronized, despised
The demons flocked and capitalized
They penetrated their seeds
The weeds spread
I latched in my claws
Until nuance was dead
Alluring the impressionable
With the gift of wealth and domination
Feeding your scapegoats
with poisoned shrubs and leaves
Masses yearn to fill the emptiness
Planted by your disease
The nature of the beast, in me
Gaze into this machine built of hate
If I feel my furnace burning, I cleanse my state
The fountain inside
washes my eyes
Questioning what I perceive
And what I want to believe

"The nature of the beast, in me."
